The Vil Clare - Claremont CA Fun, Event-full, Photo-filled

There's so much to see and do in Claremont. Historic Route 66 (which is now known as Foothill Blvd.) is a main east-west thoroughfare and a very interesting drive. It's home to numerous shop, dining, entertainment sites and so much more... and it Celebrated its 90th Anniversary in 2021!

The Claremont Colleges, California Botanic Garden and The Old School House are just a few of the interesting places found along this historic highway.

Wolfe's Market has undergone a transformation. Opened in 1917, it is now owned/operated by the 4th generation of Wolfe family members. Click here to read the June 2015 issue of THE VIL CLARE free online magazine for more about Wolfe's Market and its "Memories of Claremont" mural by Jeff Faust. The Meat Cellar is a restaurant, full bar and meat dept. within this historic site. Wolfe's continues to offer deli and catering services.

This 2 mile stretch of Route 66 opened in 1931. Click here to read more about its history "The Roadside Allure of Route 66" and click here to take a tour. Both resources are provided by Claremont Heritage.
